Five Bad Hair Care Tips you need to Stop This Summer

As in summer sun is on top so this season is known to be carefree fun in sun, did you all know that this can be the most damaging season for your hair? Your hair can dry out while being in the sunlight in summer and taking dips in the pool or the ocean can dry out your hair, leaving it looking lackluster, lifeless, and limp. This is not the story of your strands is putting an end to bad hair care habits once and for all. Below are the five bad hair care habits that you must stop this summer.

  1. Over Washing:

Shampooing your hair every other or every two days or in between days you can use dry shampoo, as sweat and summer go along with each other but washing your hair after every 5 seconds to get rid of grease is not doing it any favors. So, shampooing your hair strands too often can strip your hair of the necessary oils it needs to look shiny and feel strong. Try using conditioning shampoo instead of traditional shampoo if your hair looks especially grimy, by using these your hair becomes clean without over-drying them.

      2. Swimming with Dry Hair

You must prepare your hair before diving into the pool or the ocean as in a swimming pool chlorine is present and in ocean salt is present and these both can cause dry your hair. As you dive into the pool or ocean the hair strand absorbs drying water as dry hair is very porous and is always seeking moisture. Apply oil or wash with fresh water before dive into the pool and ocean.

          3. Not Protecting your Hair

UVA and UVB rays from the sun are harsh and this can do a number on our skin, causing everything from dryness and signs of skin aging to sunburns and skin cancer. The effect of the sun’s rays doesn’t end at our epidermis. As sunlight is warning and inviting it can do a number on our hair. You will have to protect your hair all season long to protect them from fading and drying out. You must protect your hair like your skin from the sun by using a fashionable floppy hat or a glamorous silk scarf.

             4. Heat Styling

Don’t make things even hotter by heat styling your stands as it is already hot because of the summer season. Save the hot tools for special occasions instead of using a blow dryer and flat iron on your hair more often, but instead embrace your hair’s natural texture on a day-to-day basis. Use hair oil or styling cream throughout the strands when your hair still damps to control the frizz. Then either braid your hair or air dry lose them for a more controlled texture once your hair has dried.

        5. Too-Tight Hairstyles

Too many tight hairstyles can cause breakage of stands like braids, ponytails, and buns. A high ponytail may cause harm to your hair. Try to opt for soft hair or loose braid in hot weather and take extra care of your hair because in hot weather hair becomes extra fragile.
